Protein Biochemist-Biotechnology

Responsibilities: • Design and perform experiments to characterize activity of nuclear/chromatin proteins

• Develop and optimize protein purification procedures from plant tissues, and bacterial or insect cells. •Perform the expression of recombinant proteins in bacterial cells or other expression systems. • Perform protein characterization using a panel of analytical methods. • Perform data documentation and preparation of reports including both internal and external publications.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience: • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or related field of study. • 5+ years relevant work experience. • Technical knowledge and hands on experience of protein expression, purification and protein analytical techniques and modern molecular biology techniques. • Proven track record of being able to work with strict deadlines in a highly demanding and dynamic environment. • Excellent written communication, data documentation, and oral presentation skills.

Desired skill/experience: • Experience with working with chromatin proteins and plant-derived proteins. • Familiarity with plant physiology and biochemistry.
