Research Associate – Formulations

The Research Associate will investigate characteristics of novel small molecules. Assist with laboratory research and analysis on related pre-formulations and formulation development projects using HPLC-UV, HPLC-MS and radioactive materials.

Responsibilities include:

• Participate in the development of drug product formulations for oral routes • Develop, prepare and conduct lab scale formulation experiments to develop formulations that will support in-vivo pharmacology and pre-clinical studies, and clinical programs. • Characterize formulations through the use of analytical and physical testing techniques such as RP-HPLC, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, Particle Size Analysis, Microscopy, Karl Fisher, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, and dissolution testing • Work collaboratively in team environment with Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, DMPK, Quality and Regulatory Affairs departments, individual chemists and project teams as needed to support formulation and process development activities

Experience and skills required:

• B.S./M.S. with 1-3 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, or closely related field • Experience in small molecule pre-formulation, formulation ( solid/liquid dosage) preparations and methods is preferred • Familiarity with analytical methods and instrumentation used to characterize pharmaceutical dosage forms
