Sr. Research Scientist



Requirements:

Under minimal supervision, primary responsibilities involve the conduct and oversight of complex research and development projects to create new bioanalytical methods, enhance existing methods, and transfer client-provided methods. Additional responsibilities include consulting with clients, training of other scientists, troubleshooting of instruments and method performance, and preparing technical reports and papers.

Key role of the position is to design, develop and validate quantitative bioanalytical methods to assay pharmaceutical compounds and metabolites in biological matrices with a balanced emphasis on technical performance and efficiency when applied to production. Ability to apply the most appropriate available technology to achieve cost-effective assay in the most timely manner.

Education and Experience:

· PhD in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related field, or equivalent cumulative years of direct professional experience with a lower degree.

· 5 years of direct hands-on experience in quantitative bioanalysis using chromatographic technologies (LC/MS or HPLC) in a CRO or pharmaceutical lab. Strong foundation of knowledge in biochemical sciences is essential (including sample preparation using liquid/liquid and solid-phase extractions, optimization of chromatographic separations, use of derivatization chemistries to enhance chromatography and/or detection). Ability to operate and master complex analytical instrumentation is a must. Working knowledge of FDA GLP regulatory requirements is expected. Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
