Biochemical Assay Scientist

Technical Skill Set The following technical skills are required of the Biochemical Assay Scientist II: · significant experience in developing and commercializing assays for protein function, including enzymatic activity, biological transport, receptor binding, and protein-protein interaction · good knowledge of assays of protein function (in vitro assays) using a variety of detection technologies, including UV/Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy, fluorescence polarization, and label-free detection methods · good knowledge of immunological methods for assays of protein function and quality, including functional ELISA and multiplex systems · knowledge of methods for chemical modification of proteins, including strategies for site-specific modification · familiarity with implementation of high-throughput strategies, including robotic liquid handling platforms · strong verbal and written communication skills · strong analytical and critical thinking skills · effectiveness in working collaboratively on multiple projects

Qualifications

Specific Requirements The ideal candidate for the position of Biochemistry Assay R&D Scientist II will hold a degree in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or closely related field. Required years of experience is dependent on the type of degree: - associates degree and 4-6 years of industrial experience - bachelors degree and 2-4 years of industrial experience - masters degree and 0-2 years of industrial experience

This individual should have a good working knowledge in the field of biochemical assays for protein function. He/She is expected to implement assay design and analyze results under the direction of a supervisor of the Biochemistry Team. At the same time, the Biochemical Assay R&D Scientist II is expected to actively contribute to a highly collaborative team structure.
