Scientist in biotech

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Utilizing your knowledge working with proteins, hands on experience in bioanalytical separation and characterizations, you will work with a team of talented scientists to contribute to the analytical method development of drug candidates. You thrive working independently, and also as a member of a team to achieve significant results.

Core Responsibilities - Development of analytical and characterization methods including MALDI, LC/MS, HPLC and various spectroscopic techniques for analysis of protein drug substances and drug products - Development and qualification of release, stability and in process assays - Sample preparation, protein purification and recovery techniques - Maintain mass spectrometers and minimize instrument downtime

Qualifications You should have a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry or biochemistry with 2-5 years experience beyond your degree in analytical development. Your experience must include woking with proteins, mass spec or other bioanalytical characterization tools. Knowledgeable about the drug development cycle is highly desirable. You are an excellent problem solver with outstanding attention to detail, and you thrive when given the opportunity to manage multiple projects with competing priorties and the set timelines. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Desired Requirements - Excellent documentation skills, writing SOP and development reports in preparation of regulatory filings - Skills in protein separtations, qualitative and quantitative analysis by Mass spectrometry, HPLC (SEC, RP-HPLC, IEX, affinity, etc), or Capillary electrophoresis, isoelectric focusing (IEF), SDS-PAGE, DSC. - Experience and knowledge in enzyme kinetics - Knowledge and experience in drug development, qualification and transfer of in process, release and characterization assays. - Flexible in shift of priorities and timeline sensitive - Good writing and presentation skills - Interpersonal skills and teamwork spirit
