Project Leader - Bioinformatics

We are looking for an experienced Project Leader - Bioinformatics with experience in the design of de novo assembly algorithms and software to join our Bioinformatics department.

Position Information

This position provides an opportunity for you to be in the center of the scientific breakthroughs that will come from sequencing and analyzing tens of related genomes at a time and from generating enough sequence to begin to understand the intricacies of the human genome.

It provides an opportunity to tap into the flow of the tens of millions of reads generated each week by our Sequencing Center and our customers, in order to develop new insights and tools in analyzing genome sequencing projects.

The goal of this position is to quickly translate insights and understanding into commercial software that is delivered to our customers and used to assemble and compare bacterial, fungal and eukaryotic genomes and transcriptomes. Requirements:

* Creative force (either as lead developer or as the algorithm expert) in the development of DNA sequence assembly algorithms or software. * M.S. or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Biology or related field. * Software programming experience, with commercial development experience a plus. * Knowledge of bioinformatics, statistics and/or biology is a plus, but not required. * Experience with instrumentation control or image or signal processing is not relevant for this position.
