Development Scientist I

RESPONSIBILITIES: Support parenteral formulation and process development for peptide and protein therapeutics. Plan and execute (hands-on) development work according to project timelines. Actively participate in team discussions and decision-making regarding project and group activities. Fulfill all corporate training requirements (e.g. EHS, GMP, HR). Maintain accurate and complete laboratory notebooks. Summarize and present data and thoughts at department and project team meetings. Keep current with relevant literature and technical training. Assist in capital budget planning/purchasing and laboratory instrument maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS: PhD in chemistry, pharmaceutics, or a related discipline plus 0-6 yrs pharmaceutical development experience. Hands-on experience and strong technical knowledge with commonly used chromatography (e.g. HPLC) and spectroscopic (e.g. FTIR) techniques. Good knowledge in colloidal chemistry and experience in parenteral formulation/process development strongly preferred. Effective scientific communication and interpersonal skills. Highly self-motivated and eager to learn and improve. Ability to work largely independently and interact effectively in a highly dynamic, cross-functional team environment. Ability to effectively work with external partners and contract service providers.
