Applications Scientist- Broad Genome Analyzer

The on-site Applications Scientist is the primary technical field contact for our customers. The Application Scientist will be responsible for supporting next-gen sequencing at a major genome center by providing technical, logistical, and troubleshooting support. In addition, the Applications Scientist will provide training and support to customers in the Broad Genome Center. This position is located at the Broad Institute in Boston.

Job duties include but are not limited to: • Demonstrating new applications and equipment in an early access, high throughput environment • Troubleshooting issues related to both existing and new applications and providing feedback to R&D, marketing, and product development teams. • Provide support and training to the field applications group regarding new applications and technologies related to next-gen sequencing • Helping to maintain and build upon collaborative relationship with key account • Acting as a key contributor of customer feedback to marketing, R&D, and product development teams. • Developing and improving key company processes that support our mission of building a world-class customer support organization.

Qualifications: • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Genetics required, OR M.S. + 3 years experience • 3-5 years biotech experience preferred • Demonstrated experience with high-throughput sequencing applications and technology required • Knowledge of next-gen sequencing tools preferred • Outstanding problem solving and interpersonal skills • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills • Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service
