Research Scientist / Senior Research Scientist, Discovery Biology
Duties and Responsibilities:
seeking a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated hands-on/bench biologist with a strong immunology background. The successful candidate will be a key member of a Discovery team focused in identifying/validating new therapeutic targets and developing small molecules inhibitors for cancer. This position will be ideal for a cancer biologist with immunology expertise or for an immunologist who wants to explore a new exciting area of cancer biology.
Generate high quality data that increases our biological understanding of emerging immune cancer targets and elucidate the mechanism of action of therapeutics at the molecular and cellular level
Closely collaborate with multiple line-functions (e.g. structural biology, chemistry and translational biology) to regularly propose new target ideas/ strategies to senior management
Qualifications:
B.S. (8+ years’ experience), M.S. (6+ years’ experience), or Ph.D. (0-3+ years’ experience) degree with strong experience in immunology, from a pharmaceutical or academic setting. Title will be commensurate with experience/degree.
A thorough understanding of immunology or cancer immunity pathways is required.
Strong hands-on experience in immunological assays: multi-color flow cytometry (FACS), T cell assays (differentiation, proliferation, cytotoxicity, cytokine production); proficiency in downstream FACS data analysis programs such as FlowJo, FACSDiva, etc. will be seen positively.
Ability to work independently and to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, team-oriented environment with colleagues from diverse disciplines.
Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated track record of scientific accomplishment and publications in related field.
