Chemist Assistant in Bioanalytical Laboratory
Process biological samples and analyze data generated from those samples in the Bioanalytical Laboratory to support submissions to regulatory agencies.
Perform job functions in accordance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), federal and state laws, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, health authority regulations, and departmental processes.
Under direct supervision, perform routine analyses, tests, and experiments in accordance with GLPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and established procedures.
Assist with sample processing. This includes understanding and following scientific procedures, operating automated instrumentation to process samples, and properly completing documentation and/or checklist(s) for each analytical test.
Gather, record, and review raw data and derived data to verify accuracy and validity.
Assist with maintenance and calibration programs for laboratory equipment.
Responsible for general laboratory maintenance.
Responsible for keeping inventory of laboratory supplies.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
Must possess knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), GLPs, SOPs, Laboratory Procedures, a basic understanding OSHA regulations and procedures of the safe handling of chemicals.
Must possess good communication and writing skills. Must possess the ability to multi-task and be accurate and precise. Must possess computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes, and Instrumentation software.
Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is preferred.
