Scientist in Biotech
Position Responsibilities:
Molecular cloning activities, including the cloning and sequencing of antibody genes into expression vectors, and potentially characterization of stable mammalian cell lines
Managing outsourced projects as needed
Support other lab research activities as time allows and as needed, such as protein purification, ELISA, and SDS-PAGE
Required Skills:
Expertise in molecular cloning, including expression vector construction and antibody sequence determination from hybridomas
Experience in real-time Quantitative PCR (qPCR) and blotting techniques (Southern, Northern)
Expertise in DNA sequence analysis through web-based sites and software programs like VectorNTI
Experience with cell culture and asceptic technique
A thorough understanding of the antibody gene structure
Strong organizational and communication skills
The ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible team-oriented environment
Education/Experience:
Completed degree (BS or higher) in a biological science
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in an academic or life sciences industry research laboratory required
Expertise in molecular cloning, including designing, executing, managing and trouble-shooting in an efficient, rapid and high-throughput manner, is a plus
Experience with transient transfections and mammalian cell line development is a plus
