Senior Scientist in Biotech

Responsibilities:

Product and Technology Development: design, execute, and report cutting edge scientific studies to support new innovation programs. Design and execute experiments toward understanding and improving biochemical robustness of concepts and/or products. Topics could include biochemical function, stability, shelf life, and manufacturability as appropriate. Ensure product compatibility with expected (and unexpected) customer applications.Interface with PAS strategic marketing and/or directly with customers / collaborators, when appropriate.Support alpha or beta trials of PAS technologies at internal, customer, or collaborator sites. Ensure technology and product success by working cross functionally with engineering, marketing, sales, manufacturing, QA/QC, regulatory, and clinical in a matrix environment. Represent R&D from the scientific perspective as an extended team member and clearly communicate technical results and recommendations to project teams Provide technical leadership and expertise to programs and projects in assigned business area. Document and build technical knowledge within assigned business area. Explore and recommend solution concepts and principles. Submit patent applications and Invention Disclosure Records (IDRs). Actively participate in Technology Sensing activities including trade associations or professional societies. Provide technical support to projects and programs Work independently with minimal direction toward established long-range goals and objectives. Travel as required to conferences, manufacturing facilities, customers etc.

Qualifications

Education: Minimum M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or other relevant biological sciences, PhD preferred.

Experience working with CE/IVD products preferred

Hands-on reagent product development experience preferred

Experience developing and validating biological assays

Experience with statistical analysis

Experience working in an industry setting

Thorough knowledge of blood biology, coagulation, and/or hematology

Experience working with blood, cell culture, in vivo assays, flow cytometry, TEG, CAT, and automated clinical assays strongly preferred
