Scientist in Biotech
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Designs and executes experiments to create and evaluate new methods required for development of new reagent systems.
Leads project team to achieve complex goals.
Maintains substantial knowledge of Leukemia, Lymphoma, and cancer biology with working knowledge of flow cytometry.
Represents the organization as the main technical contact for with-in business contracts and projects.
Acts as a technical lead and/or consultant on cross-functional projects or programs.
Prepares and may oversee the preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and technical reviews.
Guides the successful completion of major programs. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions may cause serious delays in program schedule.
Provides training and mentoring to junior staff.
Participates in functional and cross-functional training to advance technical capabilities.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth knowledge of biology, immunology, biochemistry, and/or oncology.
Familiarity with operation of laboratory instruments used in cell analysis laboratory.
Familiarity with IVD/regulated environment. Understand design control, GLP, and cGMP paradigms.
Good understanding of data analysis techniques used in multi-dimensional flow experiments.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present data of high complexity.
Demonstrated scientific creativity, best exemplified by a publication record.
Demonstrated team leading and project management effectiveness.
Willingness to do global business travel up to 10% of the time.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a biological science discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
Ph.D. with 3 years of related experience preferred.
