Scientist in Biotech
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•
Initiate and execute in vitro, in vivo, and cell-based drug screening assays.
•
Design experiments and methodology for execution.
•
Make recommendations to improve research strategies for developing drug candidates.
•
Write and QC scientific protocols and study reports.
•
Work as part of the research team to develop and achieve departmental goals and objectives
•
Maintain broad knowledge of state -of-the-art principles and theories and keepup with relevant
study literature.
•
Assume leadership role in the design and drafting of original scientific papers.
•
Supports development of intellectual property and assist in patent preparation.
•
May lead a research team and train or supervise lab staff
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Required Skills):
•
Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell or Molecular Biology or a related scientific
discipline required.
•
Minimum of 6 years research experience following post
-
doctoral training, preferably in a drug development/biotechnology setting.
•
Demonstrated technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: cell & molecular biology,
immunology, primary cell culture, cell
-
based assays, immunohistochem istry, microscopy and live cell imaging.
•
Proven abilities in trouble
-
shooting, problem
-
solving, data review and interpretation.
•
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
Outlook.
•
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with
all levels of management.
