Director / Senior Director
RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish strategies and priorities of the LCMS Biologics group
Manage budgeting responsibility for the LCMS Biologics group
Lead the operation of the LCMS Biologics group through the assigned scientific staff
Ensures business unit operates effectively and efficiently
Ensure that the LCMS Biologics group has sufficient resources to meet their goals
Provide scientific leadership for the LCMS Biologics group and provide managerial support to scientific staff
Act as a scientific resource for other Bioanalysis functions.
Communicate with clients and present and represent the scope and capabilities of LCMS Biologics group to clients and auditors
Support human resource policy and timely adherence to performance management guidelines for all assigned staff
Uphold all safety standards, discipline guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements and oversee training initiatives
Provide technical business development support to sales efforts and assist sales with business development opportunities
Provide consistency of scientific operations with regulatory requirements and guidelines
Ensure progress with new technologies that are in line with the company vision
Set manageable objectives with functional measurement systems for supervised staff
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Understanding of all routine laboratory procedures
Understanding of development/validation of bioanalytical methodology
Advanced knowledge of LC/MS technologies and techniques including High resolution mass spectrometry and current LC advances
Understanding of wet-laboratory sample preparation
Proven public speaking skills
Ability to interact with clients, and work to objectives/timelines
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
Advanced understanding of nano-flow chromatography and modern quadrupole or time-of-flight mass spectrometry instrumentation, development/validation of methodology, biological sample preparation, interpreting of data, understanding of chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
PhD in Chemistry/Bioanalytical Chemistry or a related field with 12 years progressively responsible related experience (leading edge experience in Biologic LCMS) in GLP laboratory environment.
