Scientist
Responsibilities specific to Analytical laboratory
Investigate, create, develop and qualify/validate new methods and technologies.
Can select the appropriate methods, techniques and evaluation methods to meet defined objectives.
Can plan and develop Analytical methods to meet technical objectives, and resolve issues as appropriate
Critically analyses complex data and interprets and integrates it with project objectives.
Prepare technical laboratory reports, project summaries, protocols
Experienced at identifying unknown compounds and quantifying them via Mass Spectroscopy
Advanced knowledge of GC/LC Mass Spectroscopy systems
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves basic instrument problems.
Position Requirements
Minimum qualifications:
PhD/MSc in Chemistry with 3+ years (PhD)/6+ years (MSc) of relevant work experience.
Positions Competenties:
Ability to resolve complex technical problems and make recommendations
Advanced knowledge in the field of Organic and Analytical Chemistry, including hands on experience of GC and LC Mass Spectrometry techniques.
Work independently and provide scientific analysis of data (able to apply a deep knowledge of scientific principles)
Identify issues within a project and propose solutions based on current practices or ability to propose new ideas
Use independent judgment for individual daily tasks, require minimal supervision
Works in cross functional teams, and interacts with staff at all levels of the organisation.
Skilled in laboratory techniques and measurement methods
Practical ability to perform test work and execute work instructions
Good written and verbal communication
Conversant with PC based programmes
Previous experience of the Bio Pharmaceutical market / cGxP is advantageous.
Maintains a high level of knowledge of area of expertise, and stays upto date via the appropriate methods
