Scientist III, Drug Concept Discovery, Immunology & Inflammation
Independently or with minimal supervision design and conduct experiments aimed at target identification and validation for autoimmune/inflammatory disease indications.
Independently develop and implement molecular and cell biology assays to identify and characterize targets, and small molecule and biologic drug candidates.
Acquire and analyze data, document results and maintain laboratory notebook according to BIPI guidelines and interpret outcomes and propose appropriate follow-up activities.
Report and treat scientific data with the highest level of integrity and ethics.
Independently operate and be responsible for lab equipment, troubleshoot effectively.
Master’s degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with at least 3+ year relevant lab research experience or Bachelor’s degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 7+ years relevant lab research experience
Core competencies required include cell-biology, immunology, biochemistry and molecular biology to be applied to Drug Concept Discovery research.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in DNA cloning, PCR, DNA/RNA isolation (QIAGEN), qRT-PCR/TaqMan, mammalian cell transfection and retroviral transduction methods.
