Basic qualifications:

PhD or equivalent in immunology or related discipline Research background in Cell and Gene Therapy Good publication record in immunology/cell and gene therapy Strong leadership, highly motivated and able to work in multi-disciplinary teams

Preferred qualifications:

Background in cell and gene therapy Experience in adoptive cell therapies particularly T cell immunotherapies Strong laboratory hands-on experience

Details:

Biopharm Innovation, within Biopharm R&D, has a remit to identify and develop innovative platforms that will enable the creation of novel and clinically impactful biopharmaceutical medicines. We are already successfully developing future medicines with our AlbudAb and Bispecific Antibody platforms. To further build on these novel opportunities we are now undergoing rapid expansion in the exciting Cell and Gene Therapy space.

Biopharm Innovation is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Biology Leader in Cell and Gene Therapy. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge in adoptive cell therapies traversing basic research and translational sciences. The individual will be focusing on optimising T cell immunotherapies. Hands-on experience in primary cell cultures, cell isolation and expansion, retroviral transduction, immune cell assays, multi-colour flow cytometry and real-time RT-QPCR is therefore essential. Experience with chimeric antigen receptors is preferred.

The individual will also contribute to driving high quality assets to clinical validation and will be working closely with our clinical immunology and translational medicine groups. Experience with authoring technical reports or the pharmacology sections of regulatory documents is required. Experience in understanding and interpreting regulatory guidelines associated with cell & gene therapy including immune monitoring would be an advantage.

This leadership role requires the individual to have strong knowledge of molecular and cellular biology as well as immunology. The successful candidate will show experience of leading from the laboratory, a passion for science and a desire both to learn and to train others. It is expected that this individual will have line responsibility in the future. The successful candidate will drive program progression, demonstrate the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills, interacting with scientists and external collaborators at all levels. A proactive attitude, excellent organizational skills and good record keeping are essential.
