Associate Scientist II, In Vivo Pharmacology
Provide in vivo experimental support from concept/design, study initiation and prosecution, through to data analysis and communication of results to project teams and relevant groups.
Work with other functional groups within MedImmune to facilitate and maximize in vivo pharmacology efforts including animal resource and husbandry staff, analytical/pharmacokinetic groups and/or histology departments as needed.
Perform ex vivo or other assays as necessary, such as ELISAs, biochemical analyses, etc.
MS Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with significant experience in an industrual setting or a BS Degree with minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with significant experience in an industrual setting.
BSc or MSc in a Life Sciences discipline.
Significant experience outside of an academic and institutional setting in a biotech or pharmaceutical company is required.
Superior animal handling expertise, ability to dose mice and rats via multiple routes (i.p., s.c., i.v., p.o.), blood collection from rodents, necropsy and tissue collection skills, experience with common rodent models of obesity and diabetes. Small animal surgery skills (cannulations, mini-pump implantations, etc.) would be a plus.
Ability to work both independently and within small cross-functional groups to achieve a common goal.
Experience handling biological samples (plasma, serum) for analytical purposes.
Ability to handle pharmaceutical compounds for pharmacology studies.
Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills.
