Scientist III, Chemistry
Develop processes to manufacture oligonucleotides products by synthesis, purification, in-process QC and formulation. Work within a team but carry out assigned tasks independently. Conduct experiments, generate, analyze and present data. Develop, verify and transfer processes to manufacturing. Write SOPs, processing documents, set-up product infrastructure and train manufacturing personnel.
Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry. A Master’s degree plus two years experience in the position offered or as a Research Scientist may also be accepted in lieu of a Ph.D. degree. Must have demonstrated experience or knowledge of chromatography techniques for separating/purifying bio-polymers such as proteins, peptides and oligonucleotides; ion-exchange, reverse-phase and size exclusion to separate and remove impurities from desired product; culture, cloning, enzymatic assay, PCR and metabolic labeling; developing and optimizing methods for protein and oligonucleotides separation; molecular biology and chemistry; best practices to take potential products through development to manufacturing; and life sciences techniques required.
