Research Scientist II (Health Informatics )
Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, computer science, geography, or a related field, and three years of professional research experience in that field; OR a Master's degree in the appropriate field and two years of such experience; OR a Doctorate in the appropriate field.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience or knowledge in the areas of public health, medical or healthcare informatics including clinical or public health data quality assessment, control, management and analysis, health information technology. Knowledge of and clinical data, including coding systems (e.g., ICD-9), relational databases, and HL7 data-interchange standard. Proficiency in data management, computer programming, managing large databases, statistical skills and excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills are desired. Experience examining and cleansing data for completeness and accuracy, extracting pertinent data from existing systems, and preparing tables and clear narrative descriptions of the data and the analysis. Experience in preparing professional reports. Ideal candidate would be proficient in SAS software with preference given to individuals with proven SAS programming experience for data manipulation including professional certification in SAS programming. Excellent communication skills, especially with external partners
