Biomedical Engineer
Education: MS or PhD in Biomedical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Project management experience (3+ years) taking technology projects from proof-of-concept to full routine implementation. Peer-reviewed publication record helpful.
Fundamental understanding of basic fluid-dynamics (pressure, flow, resistance relationships). Experience developing fluid flow systems highly desired.
Strong quantitative skills with experience in multivariate statistical analysis.
Strong quantitative understanding of blood cells, proteins, viruses and their interactions, as well as the analytical techniques used to characterize them.
Instrumentation experience with automated data logging.
Strong protein biochemistry and chromatography background a major plus
Preferred but not required: Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation development. Familiarity with software interface and coding (i.e.- LabView, C, MS Visual Studio, or similar). Fundamental understanding of protein biochemistry, cell & protein labeling strategies.
Construct well designed experiments, typically employing novel technologies, to elucidate the impact of physicochemical drivers on the filtration performance of biological fluids ).
