Research Assistant/Research Associate in Biotech
You will work as part of a team to develop and optimize microbial fermentation processes for the production of recombinant proteins. This position will also include research into technologies to improve recombinant protein expression. Responsibilities will include running small scale experiments and working with pilot plant staff on fermentation studies, with an emphasis on analyzing samples and data from these experiments. Based on these analyses, you will then help develop and test new hypothesis to improve our fundamental understanding of recombinant protein expression and to develop robust processes. This position will require collaborations and interactions with colleagues across departmental lines. Flexible working hours may also be required occasionally.
BS or MS in biochemical engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with 0-4 years of related experience. Hands-on experience with bacterial fermentation, molecular biology, protein gels, immunoblots, and quantitative analysis is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills and communication skills are required. You should be self-motivated and organized, and enjoy scientific investigation.
