Bioinformatics Scientist
Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Work in a cross-functional group of software developers, bioinformaticians, hardware engineers, and molecular biologists, developing state-of-the-art genome analysis systems
• Help define and develop algorithms and workflows for sequence analysis applications including medical resequencing, metagenomics and others
• Provide validation and R&D application support services.
• Participate in cross-site projects and academic collaborations
Education and Experience:
• M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or similar. Ph. D. degree with relevant experience strongly preferred
• Experience developing algorithms for sequence analysis in complex genomics applications. Previous experience in similar domains is a plus
• Programming experience – particularly proficiency in C#/C++/C
• Proficiency with statistics or bioinformatics tools and packages (R, Matlab, Biconductor or similar) desirable
• Superior communication skills in highly diverse cross-discipline environment
