Senior Research Associate I,
* Construct and isolate hosts strains (yeast, bacteria) using various cloning techniques
* Cultivate small, medium scale, and HTP candidate strains for screening
* Characterize strains (growth, metabolite profiling…)
* Work and interact on a daily schedule with the molecular biology and fermentation teams
* Acquisition, evaluation, presentation of data, and creating/following
* standard operating procedures
Qualifications:
* BS or MS with at least 5+ years post-graduate experience, preferably in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
* Experience in isolation, culture, storage and archiving of various microorganisms
* Experience in host modification and/ or bacterial recombination
* Excellent laboratory skills, proficient in a wide variety of molecular biology techniques (DNA cloning, recombination, DNA isolation, etc.)
* Basic understanding of fermentation (small scale) is helpful
* Very good computer skills, able to manage, organize, and critically evaluate data
* Excellent organization and communication skills (both written and oral) absolutely required
* Must be self motivated able to work independently and detail oriented
* Able to adjust and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, team driven work environment
