Sr Scientist - Biochemistry Development
• Explore new technologies and identify creative solutions to overcome current technology limitations
• Design, implement, analyze, present experiments to demonstrate feasibility of new methods
• Participate in process improvement efforts to continually improve sequencing quality, capacity and costs
• Solve complex developmental challenges or technical issues
• Optimize and simplify complex assays to achieve commercial levels of stability and performance
• Build strong working relationships within a multi-disciplinary environment
• Manage small teams to develop and commercialize high-throughput assay platforms
• Other duties determined by the management team
• Ph. D. in the biological sciences with five to ten years in product development
• A good understanding of genetic assay & process development
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage the activities of a small research team
• Excellent communication, documentation and time management skills required
• Experience with biochemistry and sequencing process development preferred
• Excellent understanding of molecular biology methods for nucleic acid analysis
• Must be innovative, detail oriented, organized, efficient and goal-driven
• Willing to take initiative in finding creative solutions for complex problems
• Independent yet enjoys collaborative problem-solving
• A desire to be a part of a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Solid communication and writing skills
