Bioinformatics Scientist
You will make use of existing software tools in internal projects and external research collaborations. As a clear communicator who is able to interact with scientists from a variety of backgrounds you are customer focused, team oriented and self-motivated and enjoy working in a highly collaborative and fast paced R&D environment.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to contribute to the development of applications for the analysis of genomic and transcriptomic data sets. Your responsibilities may include:
• Development of sequence analysis software and applications
• Bioinformatics input to DNA sequencing applications projects
• Analysis of sequencing data
• Benchmarking of software tools
We seek demonstrated accomplishment in some or all of the following skills:
• Algorithm development
• Sequence analysis
• Proficiency in C++, Perl and/or Python, SQL, Linux/UNIX
• Practical experience of open source bioinformatics tools
• Good understanding of applied statistics
• Critical problem solving and data analysis
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
Education
• Masters in bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or equivalent
