What Is Reaction Equation?
✍: FYIcenter.com
A Reaction Equation or Chemical Equation is an expression that represents a chemical reaction. A reaction equation uses the following basic format:
m1R1 + m2R2 + ... → n1P1 + n2P2 + ... Where: R1, R2, ... are molecular formulas of reactants m1, m2, ... are number of reactant molecules P1, P2, ... are molecular formulas of products n1, n2, ... are number of product molecules
Examples of reaction equations:
2H2 + O2 → 2H2O H2 + Cl2 → 2HCl CH4 + 2O2 → CO2 + 2H2O NaCl → Na + Cl HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H2O Zn + 2H+ → Zn2+ + H2 AgNO3 + NaCl → AgCl + NaNO3 2Na + Cl2 → 2NaCl 2C2H6 + 7O2 → 4CO2 + 6H2O
